Athletics for Men and Women over 30
Veterans' Athletics represent
fitness, fun and fellowship across a range of athletic activities for men
and women aged 30 and over. The club boasts a membership of
over 500. Everyone, from beginner to elite is welcome.
Standards and performances are recorded in five year age groups.
Everyone participates in heats or groups at their own standard.
Handicap events are especially popular, encouraging and rewarding improvement
and fitness gained through the year. The philosophy of the Veterans
movement is PARTICIPATION. Come along and enjoy yourself in
running, walking, throwing or jumping.

Run in forests and on trails around

Monthly Throwing Handicaps
Usually the last Saturday of each month from 1.00pm at the

Track and Field Season
Thursdays 6.00-9.00pm, October to March, at the AIS Athletic Field,
Bruce. The program consists of varying events, including sprints,
middle and long distance runs, throws, jumps and walks.

What does Veterans' Athletics have to offer? A great deal of fun, with new friendships and social activities. Handicaps and other competitions that encourage and reward improvement.. Regular athletics can result in faster fitness improvement than you thought possible. You will enjoy improvement in your times, distances and your own personal bests, and competition (if you wish) with others in your age group or standard. You will discover that age is no barrier to fitness. |
